How to Get the Most Out of Your Staycation this Summer!

Updated: Oct 8, 2020

Summer vacation looks a little different this year because of Covid-19 with most flights, cruises and other travel related things shut down. That doesn't mean you have to give up traveling completely though. This year is the perfect opportunity to do a #staycation or visit a local town within a 3 hour driving distance from where you live. We all have places in our own town or a nearby one that we haven't been to or tried yet. Here are some suggestions of things to do this summer.

1) Explore your own city like a tourist. Go to museums, local attractions like a zoo or aquarium and historical sites. You may be surprised what you learn about your current hometown!

2) Try new activities you have not done before. Maybe you always wanted to go skydiving, paddle boarding, get a hot stone massage or take a food and drink tasting tour. This is a great time to try those fun experiences while you are in your own town or one nearby!

3) Go to a new restaurant. There are new eateries popping up what seems like every week! It is hard to keep up. Make it a fun weekend lunch with friends or family and try out the new places to find your new favorite meal!

4) For a cheap way to hang out with a small group, have a barbecue and cook at home. You can do a potluck too and everyone brings a dish. These are fun if you do a theme night such as Italian or Mexican food or color scheme (such as white and gold) for clothes and decor.

5) Have a game night. These are great if you have kids, teens, or young adults. The games themselves may vary based on the age group but this a a good way to have fun for free at home too.

6) Find the most instagram photo worthy places in your town and take all the pics! Even if you don't post them you have memories to look back on for years to come of where you live now and #summer2020!

These are just a few of many ways you can have fun exploring your area this summer and enjoy a great staycation!

Much Love,
