10 Tips for Relaxation

Updated: Oct 8, 2020

Find peace in the midst of uncertainty and chaos.

There are many ways to relax after a long day, week or year... looking at you 2020.

Here are a list of 10 options that can work regardless of how much or little time and money you have.

1) Drink tea (especially green tea since it has L-Theanine which reduces the body's stress responses).

2) Close your eyes and take several deep breaths.

3) Take a hot shower or bubble bath.

4) Cuddle with a loved one or your pet (or visit a rescue shelter to play with some cute furbabies if you don't have one)!

5) Work out- cliche I know, but even a 5 minute dance break in your living room or a walk around the block releases endorphins that make you happy and calmer.

6) Get outside. Sunshine, flowing water (ocean, lake, etc.) and stars are great ways to reconnect with yourself, nature and to reduce stress.

7) Reorganize and declutter the area you are in the most. For example, if you sit at a desk most of the day clean it, remove clutter leaving only what is necessary, and clear off the desktop on your computer into several main folders.

8) Light a candle (preferably lavender, eucalyptus, vanilla, citrus/tropical, or your favorite scent that reminds you of a positive memory).

9) Laugh, whether is by talking to a friend or family member, or watching Youtube videos, laughter is the best medicine.

10) Listen to music. Play a song/playlist that is calming like jazz or spa music or something upbeat that puts you in a good mood every time you hear it. Music is one of the fastest ways too change your mood.

Try them out and let me know how they worked for you! Share your own suggestions as well.

Much Love,
